Hutchinson Irrigation District #16 is a small municipal water district serving potable water in the Spokane Valley since 1909. At the time of its organization the area was mostly farm land. The District was formed to supply water and electricity to the land in the area and was originally called Hutchinson Electric Water Company. The District currently has 889 service connection serving approximately 2180 customers. The District has a Board of Directors consisting of 5 people that own property in the District. The Board meeting is the second Monday of the month at 7:30 p.m. in the District office located at N. 618 Sargent Rd.
