5—What Is A Watershed?
As you can see from the previous page, water doesn't stay in one place for long. When water falls as precipitation it is collected in watersheds and is then channeled to rivers, aquifers, and the ocean. This page uses a pool to explain the concept of a watershed. For more information on watersheds, check out this USGS page.
