    • ProActive Business – 7 Increased Generator Contact visits conducted by Ecology during January; Preparation of letters/mailers to 2005 IGC participants underway; BMP manual being distributed; Hospitals visit reports complete for Valley, Sacred Heart, Deaconess and Holy Family, including sending out information packets to each facility; work plan/budget mtg. 2/24
    • Potential Contaminant Source Inventory Update – updated list ready for May-June 2006 mailing; work plan/budget mtg. 2/24
    • Household Contaminant Disposal – work plan/budget mtg. 2/24
    • Education & Awareness – another full evening at the Vera+SAJB booth @ Sunrise Elementary Science Fair Feb 2, 6-8 p.m.; aquifer presentation to Compass Club 2/7; Aqua Duck Comic Book Issue #2 delivery expected 2/28; work plan/budget meeting 2/21
    • Website – total website sessions for Jan 2006 = 1403

  • PROGRAM LEADER REPORT – Julia McHugh

1) Lee Mellish, Liberty Lake Sewer & Water District, will address the phosphorus in dish detergent bill (HB2322) that is currently making it’s way through the state legislature

2) Lloyd Brewer, City of Spokane Environmental Programs, will address the following Ecology effort:  Ecology is soliciting public comment on the revised Formal Draft Phase II Municipal Stormwater Permit for Eastern Washington through May 19, 2006.  Following consideration of all public comments and final changes, the final permit will be issued in late September 2006 at the earliest. The formal draft permit can be downloaded at: https://www.ecy.wa.gov/programs/wq/stormwater/eastern_manual/index.html; printed copies can be obtained by contacting jenh461@ecy.wa.gov. Send written comments to EasternComments@ecy.wa.gov or to:  Department of Ecology, Water Quality Program, Municipal Stormwater Permits, P.O. Box 47696, Olympia WA 98504-7696, Fax: (360) 407-6426.  PUBLIC WORKSHOPS Ecology to host two general public workshops on the formal draft permit during public comment period to include explanation of permit, changes from the previous, and answer questions.  Formal testimony or comments on the Draft Permit or Fact Sheet not accepted at public workshops.  In Spokane: Thursday, April 13, 2006, 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Spokane Public Health District, Room 140 (Auditorium), 1101 West College Avenue

3) Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) Feb 9 meeting involved review of Articles of organization; handout for review of Emergency Support Function #10 of the City/County Dept. of Emergency Management plan; the need to standardize and coordinate existing emergency response documents existing within various response agencies; and a brief discussion on the PCSI and the desire to combine SAJB’s, Fire District’s and L&I lists

4) Aquifer Protection Council – next meeting @ Ecology is Tuesday Feb 21, 2:00 p.m. (Steve Skipworth attending)

5) AWWA Subsection is soliciting for nominations for their Young Professional Award, acknowledging someone in your organization that embodies high standards and performance in community involvement, leadership and technical expertise.  If you wish to nominate, email a written summary of ~ 500 words to dledingham@parametrix.com before April 1st.  Award to be presented at PNWS Annual Conference, Spokane, in May 2006
