  • Aquifer quantity study by Washington-Idaho-US Geological Survey

4. NEW BUSINESS

  • Resolution 2003-05 Interlocal Agreement with Ecology for Intern
  • Resolution 2003-06 Master Contract with KDK-1
  • Resolution 2003-07 Potential Contaminant Source Inventory Update contract with County WQMP

5.  WELLHEAD PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION PLAN

  • Committee Reports
    • ProActive Business – second intern to promote Small Quantity Generator program expected to start July 1, 2003; Initial intern performing IGC visits allocated additional funding to work through December 2003
    • Potential Contaminant Source Inventory – finalizing contract for biannual database updating and annual generation of list and maps for Water District review and corrections
    • Household Contaminant Disposal – no activity to report
    • Education & Awareness – Aqua Duck performance @ Pasadena Park Elementary a success (60 kids) – “skit was good and the books were enjoyed after returning to the classroom”.  Following their performance at Seth Woodard Elementary (270 kids), kids clamored for Aqua Duck and Devoil autographs.  TV spot running on KHQ TV as part of ‘Best in Class’ sponsorship.
    • Will assist at Modern Electric & Water ‘Kids in the Creek’ July 15th
    • Website – total website visits for May 2003 = 1,853.  The Virtual Field Trip led the most commonly accessed pages, and the top 5 entry and exit points.  Contract for redesign of site under review
    • Emergency Planning – no activity to report
  • PROGRAM LEADER REPORT – Julia McHugh

a) Aquifer Atlas reprinting – County WQMP assessing need to revise prior to reprinting; will solicit additional bids on printing in 8.5” x 11” size with fold-out maps; searching for other participants to lower cost of printing

b) Watershed Planning WRIA’s 55 and 57 – June 18th meeting discussed draft report on Instream Flow model results for Little Spokane River; Public Meetings on this and other items to be held by Watershed Planning Unit on June 30, County Valley Library, 6:30 to 8:30 and July 1, Riverside Fire Station 46, 6:30 to 8:30
