3—The Hydrologic Cycle
What does hydrologic mean and how is it responsible for growing your hamburger, and everything else that you eat? Water on the surface (surface water) is necessary for fish and other lifeforms in streams and rivers, and in Spokane, the Aquifer below ground (groundwater), supplies us with all of our water needs. All of this is made possible by the Hydrologic (or Water) Cycle.

Do you know that climate is constantly forcing water to recycle itself? How do you feel about the idea that we're drinking the same water the dinosaurs used for bathing? Click here to find out how much of Earth's water is drinkable by humans. To return to the hydrologic cycle image, click the Return to Tour button on the control panel to the right.
