    • Potential Contaminant Source Inventory – presentation of results by County WQMP GIS Specialist Beatrice Lackaff
    • Household Contaminant Disposal – no activity
    • Education & Awareness – Water Weeks event Saturday, September 28, attended by 110+ kids and adults; debut of Aqua Duck an apparent success, web-based Virtual Field Trip of the Aquifer for middle school students is underway; poster contest deadline October 18th – judges needed to decide on winners and prizes
    • Emergency Planning – Water Quality Emergency Coordination questionnaire redistributed – please complete

a)  PCSI Risk Ranking discussion – each District reviewed listings, is there a need for further ranking?

b) GUEST SPEAKER:  Beatrice Lackaff, GIS Specialist County Water Quality Management Program, presenting the Potential Contaminant Source Inventory results and maps

c) Robinson Research Survey comparison Draft distributed to Education members Oct.17th

d)  Dept. of Ecology – aquifer protection ads to begin running Nov 1st through end of January ’03 @ Newport, Northtown, Valley Theaters – general ads will be replaced with SAJB Poster Contest winner art – SAJB art judges needed!

e) EPA Vulnerability Assessment Grants – the first round of funding was not available to consortia but only to large systems with a single PWS identity.  If new funds become available, requests for applications will be posted at the following site: https://www.epa.gov/safewater/security/index.html.  “In the meanwhile states, including Washington, have received funds to assist small and medium systems with security issues.   The newsletter from the DOH drinking water program will no doubt be providing some information regarding this program.” (Per EPA Region X staff Dr. Gene Taylor)

f) Ice Age Floods Institute membership offer – $50 basic dues for SAJB; broad effort to showcase floods, which in part created the Spokane/Rathdrum Prairie Aquifer; working to establish a multi-state interpretive tour; newsletter included

g)  “Aquifer Influence” road signs installed by DoT – seen @ Stateline eastbound and Latah Creek westbound

h)  Watershed Resource Inventory Analysis WRIA – next meeting October 23rd

i) Rathdrum Prairie/Spokane Valley Aquifer joint study – no news

j) Washington Citizens Advisory Committee – no news

k) Groundwater Foundation Conference November 17-20, Eugene, OR – will attend
