  • Committee Reports
    • Draft Ecology 319 Grant report, May 2000 through Dec 2004, complete
    • 2005 draft Budgets: PBA under review, HCD awaiting cost sharing information, EDU & PCSI need revising
    • ProActive Business – draft BMP Guide sent to committee for review/edit, response due back to Ecology by 2/10; draft letter to 2003 IGC participants under review
    • Potential Contaminant Source Inventory Update –modeling of 3 new purveyor wells completed by CH2MHill; capture zones and the businesses within the capture zones will be incorporated into PCSI; compilation of 2004 PCSI update data has begun; draft letter to Paul Chase, Fire Dist 1 Fire Marshall, re: database collaboration
    • Household Contaminant Disposal – exploring augmentation of April Spring Greening by establishing contaminant pickup at certain fire stations on each of 4 Saturdays in April; pricing reprinting of Household Haz Chem. brochure for broad distribution through water bills
    • Education & Awareness – continuing to distribute Aqua Duck comic books; KSPS planning student and adult workshops; participate in Sunrise Elementary Science Fair, Feb 1, 6-8:00 p.m., MacDonald Elementary Science Fair, Feb10, 6 – 8:00 p.m.
    • Website – total website sessions for December 2004 = 2768
    • Emergency Planning –attending Feb 10 Local Emergency Planning Committee meeting
  • PROGRAM LEADER REPORT – Julia McHugh

 

GUEST Speaker – Mr. Dave Moss, Tetra Tech, to discuss draft State Underground Injection Control Regulations, the relation to eastern Washington Stormwater regs also under development, and how each will be applied in the Spokane area  UIC – Rule Revision Activity.url is:

1) ID/WA Aquifer study –Policy Advisory Committee planning for Public Meeting, January 27th meeting 6:30 – 9p.m. @ Templin’s; Agenda: update on what’s been done already toward the bi-state aquifer study, computer modeling efforts, study funding outlook, etc.

2) Aquifer Atlas reprinting complete! – atlases being provided to City and County Libraries for distribution to groups and individuals; will also distribute to SAJB member districts

3) BNSF Refueling Depot Leak  – update distributed 01/26/05

4) WRIA 55/57 – Next meeting Jan 26th, Agenda: Review new recommendation, develop strategies to address compliance, enforcement, and validity of water rights and claims within WRIAs 55 and 57; Review the Watershed Plan; Review the Watershed Plan Implementation Matrix; Review the Responsiveness Summary

5) Ready for your review! The AWWA Research Foundation Report:  Demonstrating Benefits of Wellhead Protection Programs – SAJB’s WP Program is one of 9 featured case studies.

6) Guest Speaker, February 24, 2005 SAJB Meeting – Bruce Rawls, County Utilities Director, to discuss the recently passed ballot item for Aquifer Protection Area fees, the estimated funds and their planned use(s), and reuse of treated wastewater
