  • Virtual Aquifer Tour, Virtual Field Trip ready for Board review at today’s meeting

  • Spokane County Planning Commission CARA Hearing 9:00am 2-27-03
  • Aqua Duck TV Spot and future education and awareness activities in light of heightened terrorist alerts.

5.  WELLHEAD PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION PLAN

  • Committee Reports
    • ProActive Business –33 IGC business visits in January; focus is on automotive industry. No major violations but most businesses with minor violations.
    • Potential Contaminant Source Inventory – final report and recommendations distributed to Districts; GIS license agreement required to receive County map data layers; future PCSI format and update interval under consideration
    • Household Contaminant Disposal – initial contact with Retired Senior Volunteer Program for month of April Household Contaminant disposal campaign
    • Education & Awareness –  TV and radio spots pulled from the air 2/14; SAJB booth and handouts at Feb 27th  MacDonald & Adams Elementary schools’ Science Fair; Aqua Duck performance on March 22nd at the Children’s Museum World Day of Water celebration.  SAJB booth planned at Ag Extension, Saturday April 12th, 10-4 p.m., part of Master Gardener public Open House, and for Earth Day on April 19th in Riverfront Park – VOLUNTEERS?; promotional materials developed for marketing Virtual Field Trip and Aqua Duck skit to school curriculum specialists, principals and teachers; established Essential Academic Learning Requirements (EALRs) for marketing the Virtual Field Trip and the Aqua Duck skit to school curriculum specialists, principals and teachers. Presentation of VFT to SD81 social studies curriculum planning team 2/11/03; aquifer presentation to class of 75 Ag Extension gardeners on 2/6
    • Web Site – meeting scheduled for Tuesday February 25th 1:00 @ Model Irrigation – discuss website updates
    • Emergency Planning – no progress to report

c) Watershed Planning WRIA’s 55 and 57 –2/19 meeting discussion of Little Spokane River Instream Flow objectives and criteria and upcoming middle Spokane River Instream Flow study

d) Washington Citizens Advisory Committee – Lloyd Brewer

f) Well owner resource –  Wellcare® Hotline for Well Owners with questions about wells or well water can call the new Wellcare® Hotline (888) 395-1033.
