  • Committee Reports
    • ProActive Business – draft Hospital publication expected the end of October, with review by SAJB Subcommittee and return of comments by mid-November
    • Potential Contaminant Source Inventory Update – no news
    •  Household Contaminant Disposal – October disposal event underway, partnering with Spokane Regional Solid Waste (banner at transfer stations), Spokane Regional Health District (call-in line for contaminant disposal pickup), Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (volunteers to do the pick-ups)
    • Education & Awareness – Virtual Field Trip for elementary students complete – have a look at www.spokaneaquifer.org, click on Kids/Teachers and then choose the elementary version; VFT-elementary presentation to four 5th grade classes at Sunrise Elementary; comic/color book available for schools, libraries, etc.; rethinking RFP Curriculum Development due to lack of response; Aquifer presentation at Leadership Spokane, 11/5/04, at WSU Ag Extension Resource Education for Realtors 11/23/04; looking in to copyright/trademark of Aqua Duck related materials
    • Website – total website sessions for September 2004 = 2265; review/edit of site by subcommittee
    • Emergency Planning – no news

GUESTS:  Judy Cole and John Hart from AVISTA to inform purveyors regarding the proposed Pavement Cut Policy by Spokane County, City of Spokane and City of Spokane Valley.

1) Welcome and initial thanks to Mary MacIntyre, City Water Accountant, our new SAJB accountant

2) ID/WA Aquifer study –next Policy Advisory meeting is 9/26, and larger meeting set for Tuesday, November 9th to plan for January 27 public meeting; $3,000 of study funds has been allocated for reprinting Aquifer Atlas.  Study website:  https://www.water.idaho.gov/svrp Study brochure available from the site for print out

3 Aquifer Atlas reprinting – 3rd draft expected first week of November, next stop print shop

4)  BNSF Refuelling Depot Tour – 38 scheduled to take tour
