5.  WELLHEAD PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION PLAN

  • Committee Reports
    • ProActive Business – looking for additional intern(s) to fund
    • Potential Contaminant Source Inventory – four Districts to complete data scrubbing; reiterate once master list is compiled, all data and maps will be available to all Districts
    • Household Contaminant Disposal – twelve calls to pick-up hotline; waiting on data from Regional Solid Waste to determine if increase in contaminants turned in as a result of HCD event
    • Education & Awareness – reordered bumper stickers and refrigerator magnets; meeting at Robinson Research May 31, prior to launch of Survey
  •  Program Leader Report – Julia McHugh

a)  DOT road signs – taking bids for signs per DOT specifications; expect to order signs by end of month

b) Watershed Resource Inventory Analysis WRIA – decided against proceeding with Little Spokane River Instream flow work

 c) HR 4609 (Nethercutt), to direct the Secretary of the Interior to conduct a comprehensive study of the Rathdrum Prairie/Spokane Valley Aquifer, located in Idaho and Washington.  On Thursday, June 20, 2002 starting at 8:30, there will be a Spokane Valley/Rathdrum Prairie Aquifer Study Stakeholders meeting.  The location to be announced. There will be presentations on the current state of the aquifer, an overview of previous and ongoing studies, and other informational talks.  Decision to be made for an oversight committee structure and compilation of items to be covered by this comprehensive study.

 d)  Emergency Response Planning  – develop basic press release and other useful information for ‘boil water’ or any other event involving water systems
